Airwire was set up to provide broadband to areas in the west of Ireland where nothing else was available. “We had been providing ourselves with broadband as there was no other option and saw the need among friends and neighbours – especially those who wanted to work from home or operate a business in rural Ireland. What started out as a fairly small provider in the Kinvara region covers now most of Co. Galway, the north of Co. Clare, the south of Co. Mayo and parts of Co. Roscommon.”

My experiences are the opposite of Tammy’s: rarely any downtime, everything works: from FTP,SSH, VPN, VOIP and Torrents to running your own web server, no port blocking, no cap, high upload speed. Maybe I have good LOS or less nodes are used to relay the signal but i have low pings and am very happy.
I never needed customer service so far (1 year in).
The only 2 minor points I like to make are speed (2Mbs) and price. It would be nice to see the price come down a bit and speeds to go up but that is probably unlikely considering the technology used.

Frequent outages, very nasty customer service when there is a problem.
