Clear 4G Internet, formally known as Clearwire, is horrible. When I called to inquire about the service for the first time, the representative asked how many devices do we usually use at the same time and my location. I told him a PS3 and 3 laptops. He said that would be no problem with that because the coverage in my area is good and I would get speeds up to 3-6Mbps. I said I’ll discuss this with my sister and call back. When I called back a day later [May 4, 2012], I talked to a new representative and gave him the same information and he and I had a conversation about gaming because he also played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as often as I did and he told me that the speeds in my area should be fine with this because the coverage is so good in my area and I should even get “bursting” speeds of 10Mbps. I ordered the modem and the first month of service which came to a total of $149.98. I received my device on the following Monday [May 7, 2012] and set it up. I did a few speed tests and received speeds of 2-4Mbps which was ok. Little did I know that would all change that night. Getting speeds between 0.4-1.5Mbps. I called and the refreshed and nothing changed. I called the next day [May 8, 2012] and still nothing change. On top of the slow speeds, my ISP exchange location is stationed in Boston, MA (1,291 miles away from my location) but I live in Central Florida. My ISP exchanges should be in Jacksonville, Tampa, or Cocoa, Fl. I called on Thursday [May 10, 2012] to cancel before my 15 day guarantee would expire because the speeds were ridiculously slow. The representative tried to “fix” it like the two other times I called and when he failed, he transferred me to the service department but the service representative suggested that I wait until Monday to see if speeds would be fixed and offered me a promotion of $34.99 monthly rate because of the speeds I was suffering. On today [May 12, 2012], I called back because I wanted to inform them of my bizarre ISP exchange location that was possibly affecting my speed. The representative I talked today continued to feed me excuses and thought I was just another ignorant customer. I told her that I do have knowledge of technology after she told me that 1.5Mbps was average speeds. She said that those speeds that were offered to me has to be equally divided among others using the service in the area. Another excuse after she told me the towers that offered my service was under construction. After I deemed all of her excuses BS because it has been like this for days, she tells me that’s because I have the basic 4G plan which I was downgraded to on May 10, 2012. So that “promotion” that was offered was really a downgrade. I then became furious and demanded that the service be cancelled and I would send their equipment back and I would like my $149.98 back, she then said call back Monday because the service department is closed on weekends and is open Monday-Friday from 6am-8pm PST. Know that the minute I get home on Monday [May 14, 2012], they will get another call.
Clear 4G internet is horrible and I would recommend anyone to stay away from their empty promises and offers that the persuade you with.

Even though they seem to be gone from Ireland - They were grand for me. Never had an issue. I since moved to Delgany which has no Clearwire coverage unfortunately.

Worst customer service ever. They leave you on hold for too long and them promise to call you back, which doesn't happen. Rebates forget the rebates after numerous phone calls, to find out where me rebate was, I was told several stories for example my computer system went down and we have no record of your rebate, etc. Clearwire is a shady company.

extremely slow, constantly loses signal every day, the company lowers the power of their signals constantly in order to save money, after you call customer service ( who you can't understand with their strong philipino accents) they turn up the power just enough to get the smallest signal possible in order to continue saving money for themselves. even the small price tag of $30.00 per month is a rip off. this is the worst internet service i've ever had, dial up is better than this crap.

Company sold to Imagine. Charged for 6 months extra after getting box back. Now sueing for more. Imagine Broadband are uncontactable about the matter. They waited for 3 years before proceeding to try get more money to make sure no evidence remained of registering to send back box to them.

DO NOT THINK ABOUT ORDERING ANYTHING FROM IMAGINE BROADBAND. Their customer support is completely uncontactable both through phone and email!

Hi. I have clearwire. Never an issue except for the odd time they are working on their dishes.

overall 10 / 10 and customer service is golden too :) I got a free wireless router after I had to move my modem. My friend had the same with another company a while ago and he was made to pay for his router.

I had Clearwire as my internet service (rented accomidation in college) 2-3 yrs ago. It was dreadful, im assuming its the same so just dont go for it. It was slow and stopped working altogether when we got near the usage which was very low. There are much better packages with other companies, as i tried a new internet service every year. The ONLY good thing about that package at the time was that someone came to install it the next day.
