I was customer with Digiweb for more than 7 years. I experienced lots of disruptions last 6 months and worked with customer support and 2nd line to see what the issue is, as an IT specialist working from home I cannot afford too much interruptions. I concluded that the routers that Digiweb are offering are not really reliable (FritzBox). I wanted to work with my own hardware (router and modem), but the girl at tech support refused to provide me the correct technical information (passwords, vendor ID string, etc) to get my modem working. She demanded me to renew my contract before she could offer that information. I turned things around and told her I will renew my contract if Digiweb provides me the info but she refused. I asked her to hand over her manager on the phone be she said “maybe next week”. After an hour I had a new contract with another ISP. If this is how Digiweb is respecting their customers, I will have no business with them.

I have been with Digiweb for more than two years now and have never been more happy with a provider. Any issues I have (which are few and far between) are resolved immediately by local, friendly staff.

Digiweb are worse than useless. They tell you on the phone that service will be great and that it may slow down slightly in the evenings. What they fail to tell you is that due to the contention problems their system suffers form, you will not be able to use their broadband between the hours of 4pm and 1am due to the high volume of traffic on it. If you do attempt to use it, its so slow that websites will time out before they get a chance to load. It really is unbearable. And the laugh of it all is that they act surprised when you tell them your problem even though every one of their satellite customers is suffering from it. Run a mile from this crowd, 3G on your phone is far better. They will act when you are signing up as if everything will be great and you will have no problems with the service. I lasted two days before ringing them after installation to complain about the issues i was having, they were completely unhelpful and unapologetic. A shower of conmen who are taking money from customers knowing that they cannot provide a suitable service.

I’ve been with Digiweb since their involvement with the NBS. There are no words to describe how bad this service is. Download speeds in the evenings, weekends, holidays, range from 0.01 – 0.05 Mbps, due to the high number of users. Contacting Digiweb is a fruitless exercise. They will accept nothing you will say until you check your speeds on a dedicated Skylogic site that produces very dodgy results. Speeds are always recorded at between 3-4 Mbps, even though you can barely send an email. Reviews suggest most, if not all, of the other providers are the same. It is difficult not to conclude that these companies are engaged in wholesale fraud. There is no regulation and Minister White, and Minister Rabbitte before him, have no interest in addressing this issue.

Digiweb, this last circa 5 weeks has deteriorated beyond belief. It is now gone from being quite a good broadband provide to being virtually unusable for a goo part of the day. I have rang tech support on a number of occasions regarding the issue and get the same old song over and over again …. contention, contention and contention again. There seem to be no willingness from the powers that be to resolve the issue, it appears they just not care about their customers. I hope comreg is aware of this issue and prompts digiweb to resolve the matter sooner rather than later

We had a very poor experience with Digiweb, paying over €70 for 20Gb download limit. The clincher came when we discovered that our very very slow download speeds in the evening were due to being added to a “High Volume User” list with the result that our speeds were manually throttled during peak times. Abysmal service for way too much money.

Terrible, the fact that they still have a data allowance boggles me, no provider should have one anymore, and not only do they still have one, but it’s a rolling one too, it’s not even on a monthly reset….
If I try to download something large, say a game from steam or something, the connection to anything else seems to just disappear completely, now obviously with many other providers if you’re downloading a large file and most of the bandwidth is being used you can still browse generally, just a bit slower, not with Digiweb, for some reason (i’m assuming a feature they have in place themselves as i’ve never had a provider where this happens, though they’d never admit it) when i’m downloading a large file everything else reacts as if there is no internet connection even there, the only explanation is a system they have in place to cause this purposely, i’m an IT student and I can’t think of any other explanation for it, and if they do then that is the dumbest thing possible for a provider to do, if i’m pulling 4mb on my 10mb connection, and only downloading at 1mb/s then my connection shouldn’t drop, it would slow obviously, but not disappear completely except for the download.
For the money Digiweb is not worth the hassle, now I will admit any dealing i’ve had with their customer service has been grand, no complaints there, but everything else, they simply don’t match up to other providers, I will personally never deal with them again.

Shit, 30 day rollover 60G limit. Its terrible. I will have to wait two days just to get back to 60, and three days without using it at all so that I can get 2Gigs of download bandwidth. Forget about watching anything on line with this even youtube, if you have netflix cancel it because its just not going to happen with digiweb. When I had UPC I never had any problems like this. At best I would say its a money making scam and nothing more. It might be ok for one person but if you share your connection with someone then your going to run into the kind of problems Im describing here.

Digiweb are a disgrace. I was with the company for over approx 9 months paying €70/month for slow slow broadband. The real problem came when i moved house. The hassle to carry over the conection was a joke.. They set up a brand new connection so i was paying for one in my new house and STILL paying for one in a house that I wasnt even living in!!!!. Customer service staff are so rude and not helpful. Also found that money was being taken from my account whenever suited them. Even the disconnection is impossible, I sent them 5/6 disconnection forms before any one from the company responded.
DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY!!! NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!! BAD SERVICE!!!

Customer Service: terrible tech support were rude argumentative and full of BullS**t when smart merged with this crowd it was a fatal mistake.
Value For Money: terrible a reqular bill of 60+ to 70+ euro for a service comparable to free WIFI in a hotel car park
Summary: If you agree to a contract with this crowd be prepared to be stretched on a rack for 12 months until every cent has been wrung out of your twisted shrivelled wallet.
There are no saving graces be prepared to be lied to,insulted and treated like a pleb.
Hope that helps someone avoid what we had to go through, i also believe that staff act in an unprofessional manner on a regular basis.

Hi,

This is by far the most incompetent group of people I have ever done business with. They are inconsiderate, inconsistent, and just flat our liars. They stole our deposit money although they have insisted that it would be refunded on three different occasions. They never actually contacted Eircom to install our line (we have proof of this after contacting Eircom ourselves). We waited over 6 weeks, while it says 10-15 working days for installation and broadband. There was a ‘dispute’ over our address, yet we were never contacted to tell us about that.

Meanwhile, we were losing earnings (as my wife and I both work online) day in and day out as Digiweb did nothing to assist us or anything to start the process of installation.

We will be seeking legal action against the company on the grounds of fraud in the immediate future.

If you are to read this review, I would beg you to avoid the company.

All the Best,

Alex and Brigid

Quick request for those writing reviews here — Digiweb do three different types of broadband: fixed line (ADSL), Metro wireless, and Tooway satellite. They are completely different types of service, so it would help if reviewers said what package they have.

I have 8Mb satellite broadband for the last 18 months. I am in a location with no ADSL option, and the local wireless provider was pure heartbreak from start to finish. By comparison, Digiweb satellite is a joy — totally consistent bandwidth and never had a glitch. The downside is that latency is high (although VoIP and Skype both work, surprisingly) so individual web pages are slow to load. On the occasions that I have rung Digiweb support I have find them extremely pleasant to deal with.

The huge killer with Digiweb’s satellite service is download limits, which are pathetic. Also, I waited a year for them to implement their online “traffic monitor” only to find it is a bad joke — it is basically a yes/no indicator that shows if you are over your limit, but not how close you are. Your bandwidth gets slashed to nothing, so you don’t need an online tool to tell you when you’re over the limit!

They appear to be raising both speeds and download limits for free at the moment, so will wait to see what happens.

Signed up for DSL 12 month contract, after 10 days still waited for connection to be made, rang up told i was connected. No connection at modem,i was told as far as they were concerned “I was connected and they are not responsible for the internal wiring in the house”.
Funny i had broadband in the house before with no issues, worst customer service i have ever had the displeasure of deaing.

We have major problems with Digiweb and for the last five weeks have phoned them repeatedly but to no avail. I can honestly say I have never come across such an appalling company, dis organised and basically they could not care less. I am now planning legal action as their lack of service has played havoc with my work. My strong advice is do not use this company. I would not even give them one star, I would give them minus 10. Overall performance of the network itself is in a mid-rated 10/100LAN networks more suitable for little local networks (it cannot be compared with mobile broadband as satellite is a different class service)
The satellite modem that was provided on transfer, customer support over a phone supposed a fault in a part that could technically not be involved – never even bothered to actually check what is wrong in reality.
Connected to incorrect tariff plan (c’mon, it’s 2012, laser fibre in action – which traffic you talking about, especially for the rate mentioned in the bill?) since the beginning due to customer service fault – still there.
Sadly there is no alternatives around – general rating – not worth of it.

I was originally a Smart Telecom customer on their “unlimited” package and I never had a bother with them. Digiweb took over and raised the cost. Apparently they need a dictionary to realize that “unlimited” and “fair usage” do not mean the same thing, and “fair usage” does not mean a HARD LIMIT of 170Gb. And a ROLLING limit at that! After hitting that limit, ONCE, I was throttled to 0.1Mbps.

They have refused to answer emails about this, and after a phone call, they had the audacity to suggest I switch to an even more expensive package that really would be “unlimited”, using the exact same 170Gb “fair usage” policy!!!

It’s all a big scam to get you to pay extra for an already over-priced service. My advice … stay away!

I have been with Digiweb now for the last few years and overall the service is fine. My big bugbear is their stupid download caps, I am at present paying for my package PLUS an additional 10 GB at €5.00 plus VAT. This brings my total bandwidth allowance to a whopping 70 GB. Would you people in Digiweb ever get a grip and allow a realistic download allowance and stop trying to ***** your customers. You are only playing into the hands of UPC and I will certainly be migrating when they ring ….

I took on Digiweb 2.5 years ago after having issues with Vodafones service and speed for two whole years. I have to say they were a breath of fresh air. From the moment I took them on they gave me exactly what they said they would. 4mb Broadband and the speed was 4mb unlike Vodafones .68mb when 4mb was promised. The only negative I could say about Digiweb was that we used to get these warnings saying we were approaching our download limit of 50Gb all the time. However we were never charged extra so happy days. Hope my next review of UPC 25mb broadband will be as good!!

To be honest looking at the ratings I have to say they don’t deserve any more than 1 star. I’m still in my first month. I ordered broadband from digiweb and it took 4-5 weeks to get the modem delivered (and account set up etc). When I finally got it I had to phone support as the wireless wasn’t working. 40 mins waiting in queue and 20 mins talking to tech expert he couldn’t fix it and he gave me instructions to check all 11 channels and re boot pc and modem each time. 2 hours later, sent them email and they sent out another modem. I’m getting at best with ethernet connection 3.6mbps and most of the time the wireless is connecting but hard to get any website or speedtest to work. My package is the next generation broadband with speeds up to 8mbps. I think the clue is in the title, up to 8mbps. I’m going to read the small print and see if I can cancel. Definitly not a happy customer and regret getting into a contract with digiweb (if anyone from digiweb reads this please feel free to get in touch and rectify any of the above issues).

Plain and simple, Digiweb were supposed to register my domain name, which I paid for so assumed all was well. Then one day I was accessing my website to find myself on a banner page indicating the domain name was forsale. Upon contacting Digiweb they confessed a messup on their side. Offered me an alternative name…. which I said was not good enough as all my cards, brochures etc pointed to the website name I wanted and I wanted to speak to a supervisor. After a number of mails and phonecalls I have not once spoken to anyone in Digiweb.
Overall they have not only lost me my website, but my literature is now useless.
I don’t mind if mistakes get made but it really is about how you handle them after and Digiweb have been absolutely scandalous.

Hi boys and girls ,
Here is what to do if you are NOT happy with Doggyweb.
Keep note of what your problem is , when it happens , date and time .
When you called the yoyo`s at the call centre and what they said , and YES GET THE PERSONS NAME .
Keep this as a record and if you are not happy with their response within the agreed amount of time that they said they would resolve your issue then you have you record to QUOTE ” persons name ”
and what exactly they said .

I have had some fun with them for years and I still owe them for a ( they say service provided ) I say they didnt provide the service so I am not going to pay .
Why should I legally pay for a service that THEY CANNOT provide, I dont care about their terms and condictions, my terms are ” IF I DONT GET SOMETHING WHY SHOULD I PAY.

PLease for your own sake , keep a record and then you have no worries . If they dont honnor their staff`s word then dont pay and use you written notes. Send them an email or a written letter and keep a copy .
They will possibly send your overdue account to a debt collection company , if they do you will get a letter from the debt collection company and you should respond by sending on the email or a copy of the letter to the debt colerction company stating that you have not and will not pay because of the outstanding issues .
Give them the dates and times of all your calls and emails.

Also send your problems directly to the following address.kgogarty@digiweb.ie
This is the email of Ms Karen Gogarty , Karen is the Ceo`s secretary and she will send it on to the customer care taem , I am not saying that this will do any good BUT it will give you some protection with reagrd to your debt collection company. You can say to them that the Ceo Mr Colm Piercy and his secretary are aware of your issue and you are awaiting their personal reply ..

Now have a look at what I found on the web.

Hello all….I’ve been a digiweb phone and broadband customer since May, and things were fine up to the end of August. Broadband slowed up alot and the phone service has interference. Despite an engineer replacing the antenna its still quite bad. I have no choice but to buy out of my contract as I need a reliable phone for my elderly parents. A neighbour a few doors down has the same problem, despite us having a clear line of sight to the Base antenna. Customer service listened but told me tough luck….I have to go back to eircom…..100% reliable but more expensive….you pay for what you get I suppose…

I have been a Digiweb customer for over 2 and a half years. It was pretty good during that time with only a few outages due to equipment failure. I currently have the 8MB wireless Metro connection. All of a sudden about 2 weeks ago, I started having connection issues. Noticed on the internal wireless router that WAN connection was dropping out. It became pretty much unusable.

I phoned up customer support and they told me that the signal to noise ratio was very low and they would send out an engineer to fix that. Finally, a whole week later, the services guy called around and replaced the antenna on the outside of the house but he didn’t seem hopeful. Even though we have excellent line of sight he informed me that we are possibly too far from their aerial.

So I asked…why are we suddenly too far away after over 2 years of good connection?

Basically, what he said was that DigiWeb recently did some work on their equipment to cater for increased customer capacity in the city. The downside of this seems to be a decrease in the range of the wireless. There was nothing more he could offer except a satellite connection. He even offered there and then to remove the equipment.

Not what you call a great customer experience!!

I moved my company account from eircom earlier this year to this shower of amatures and boy was it a mistake ,my internet was down for a few hours on most days and as regards trying to get talking to somebody in customer care it would be easier get the euro million numbers ,when i finall had enough of these wasters and decided to go back to good old eircom it then got worse getting to the point where they would not release my lines to eircom ,after days of trying, nobody( not even the smart *** that sold me down the river with what digiweb would save me) could get my lines released so i was left with no option but to buy out of digiweb, they really screwed me and cost my company alot of expence by way of loss of earnings and buy out of contract fees i am in business for 17 years and i thought long and hard before i wrote this as i like to see everyone make a living but the way digiweb treat people they have to be called to order. MY ADVICE RUN A MILE FROM THESE SHOWER .

I have Digiweb’s Metro broadband for the last 5 years and I’m very happy with the service.
As far as I know their customer service/support are very good – I’ve never had to call the support line so that says it all really.
I moved house recently and they even sent a technician out to move the equipment to my new house and didn’t charge me anything.
The main reason why I went with Digiweb is that I didn’t need to have an active phone line.

So it’s all good here.

I switched to Digiweb from Eircom in April 2011 & I have made such a big mistake. Digiweb’s broadband speed is very erratic & it keeps crashing. Customer service is only available office hours.
I am in a 12 month contract & its so frustrating. If you want hassle free broadband, steer clear of Digiweb.

Where do i start,

Changed from talk talk in Feb. from day 1 had issues with connection. Digiweb tech support told me it was the phone port in the house to pay an electrician to replace it. So i did, to no prevail. Still no internet, this lasted for 3 weeks with over 9 hours clocked up on the phone to customer service and tech support.

4 weeks on, finally got an internet connection.
Then the girl on the phone told me i would recieve 10MB broadband.. To date i have recieved at no time more than 1.49MB

Which led me to discover i was only on a 3MB package.
3 hours to upload 1 Jpg file photograph to my own website.
Countless hours talking to Digiweb.

No satisfaction.
So finally decided enough was enough and changing service provider.
Now im told i have to pay a termination fee of close to €150.

Something tells me, this is not over.
See you in court Digiweb

I honestly think the internets on this site should be split for wireless + DSL because in my opinion the dsl packages of this BB provider are excellent. The line does sometimes go down but that is due to eircom maintenance and no fault of digiweb im on the 24MB DSL and its excellent very good and no ”lag” at all. the customer care is also amazing one rep gave me his personal number incase anything was up i mean thats amazing imo go with digiweb just stay away from wireless and sattelite packages

I been with digiweb and suffering for 3 years, and decided to change ISP. I’m subscribing for 20 GB/month usage. If u exceed they will slow down ur speed and sometimes internet not possible for use. For the next month it should go back to zero. but not, you have to maintain between their bracket 0-20 GB. Useless to pay their monthly subscription. Not highly recommended………..

First of all service is shit. Second of all when i called to ask to inscrease to 6mb wireless they say sorry we don’t offer that speed the highest is what we gave it to you for 30 euros/month. I was was saying to myself you must be an idiot, they would not even increase it for me. I can’t wait to leavew this service in Septemebr and take NTL.
Second issue they say where are you located I said I live in Balbriggan, ” you see your location doesn’t have good signal.” So I suggeted to her do you wan’t me to locate to new place with better signal so I can have better internet hehehe. One of the customer service personnel recommended I move the router closer to the window. Lol meaning I need to carrry router with myselg in the house to find the better signal. Maybe I should go on the top of the roof that would be best idea. I suggest to anyone who has Digiweb and lives in far north of Dublin better not take it because they will never call you and check on customers and when you call them they don’t do anyhting.

Rubbish really – long call queues 15 – 20 mins :(
very slow most of the time – really hard to use Digiweb BB after moving form NTL (UPC) – only rason i went with Digiweb is NTL could not provide BB in this area :(

The NTL pkg I was on- 10mbps with unlim download – :) :)

now I have to track my download usage with this Digiweb crap traffic graph your tech support gave me cause the agent could not even explaine what the hell was going on.. I done some tracking myself and the whle think dont even add up – - – I was on holidays for 1 week (pc not even turned on) but i managed to down load 9 G – WTF..!!

Get this then —Digiweb tech support tell me I dont have a secure network (Gheeeer), Oh now I was going to listen to a guy who had no clue what he was talking about …cause he kept getting bits and bytes mixed up …eh ….oh ….eh …then he went to ask a Sup…. (………………………….??)

my credit ran out and I will call them again…ever …

If you have to get Digiweb well you have to BUT if you dont ….RUN.!

We had the Tooway Satellite system through Digiweb.

At ~€60 / m for a 3.6 Mb package with only 4 GB allowance was a little steep. Also, they don’t seem to understand how the usage restriction works themselves!

AFAIK, Digiweb outsource all their install work. I have saw the result of this first hand as there is a 1 metre dish almost tilting the side-wall of my house. Two hefty foreigners placed the dish over my footpath at eye-level. It really is breaking stuff (nose breaking!). I say hefty as I had to climb into my attic and fish in the wires (which they shoved under a roof-tile) as they simply couldn’t fit in the attic!

One thing Digiweb seem to have going for them is their customer support. Friendly, helpful and always there. We hassled them alot over the satellite (we kept blowing the allowance) yet they were always on hand to answer your queries.

Finally, the satellite option is sold as 3.6Mb down and 384Kb up for all packages. This speed and more is achievable day and night. It is a very stable system IMO

Contract does not have a cooling off period and i told them that i did not have a telephone line but as i had ordered the broadband line they were going to charge me for the BB and line rental as well or else pay the cancellation fee. I had not received any contract from them they tied me into a contract without my acknowlegment and it was not until i mentioned about my right to a cooling off period that they cancelled my account otherwise i would have had to pay. Do not go with them.

Digiweb satelite broadband.
If you have no other choice it is a possible option.
Speed and connection can be iffy and inconsistant — the a problem is lack of feedback from the modem as to signal strenght so you can not tell what is happening. You have no information on how much you have downloaded etc
Also your IP address is in Italy so you have to use a proxy if you want to use a betting site, (illegal in Italy) also pages often load in italian .
Can be slow like dial up but bigger files can download quickly. (600mb in 40mins No where near as fast as real broadband) Limit is low but if you only browse web pages and not youtube it is OK.
technical customer service seems OK have dealt reasonably with several queries by e-mail and once in connection with cheltenham racing by phone . (pity really on that last one – i would have beeen better off not been able to bypass the italian block on betting)

As a reseller of Eircom and having to deal with digiweb in the past on behalf of my own customers I consider Digiweb to be the worst ISP in Ireland. One paticular customer had their broadband not working for literly months and when I contacted support the said they will looking into it. I then got an email saying everything is resolved only to find nothing had been done. I called them again and the same thing happened. It was like being stuck in a twilightzone loop. Needless to say I got the customer to switch to another provider.

i’ve been with digiweb for just over 2 years, starting with 7mb/1mb (actual speed was between 5 & 7) , it was great, so great i upgraded to the 12mb/1mb package. Average speeds are about 8mb fluctuating between 6 & 10 at times, ping is generally 18 to 30
I noticed my speeds drop a few months back, I contacted digiweb customer care trying to figure out why i now only had intermittent or no service. i must be one of the fortunates because i was never left long in the Q & when i got through they could’nt have been nicer or more helpfull. The reason i gave them 4*’s for customer service is i did come across 1 dickhead but i sent his supervisor an email for which i recieved an appology & 1 month free (Thank You!) the supervisor sent out a guy to see what the problem was.
it turned out as it works off “line of sight” some tree’s had grown & blocked my conection with the mast.He tracked another mast & it was all sorted.
Having read some of the reviews of other isp’s, i consider myself lucky. Digiweb has scored well here by comparisson to the competition & not on its own merits really, it is a bit expensive for what you get but for my money they are the best of a bad bunch

I have Digiweb tooway satellite broadband for 6 months now. I have to admit that the service is very reliable; it only stopped when it was snowing. My major gripe is their quota of 4Gb/month. When you reach the limit they effectively stop your internet access. 4Gb in this day and age is a joke. Like most people who use satellite I have no other option so I’m stuck with Digiweb (they seem to be the most competitive satellite provider in Ireland). So please Digiweb raise your ridicules quota, what’s the point of 3.4Mbit/s if you’re capped when you stream videos for a few hours.

I signed up to digiweb just over a year ago. At 1st the speed was good i was getting a decent 5mb up and 2.5mb (cost at the time was €75.00 p/m) down after about 7 months this dropped to about 1mb up and 256kb down. When i rang them up they gave me the usual crap of “do you have anything downloading etc” “is your firewall set to deny internet access” and so on. I have worked in the IT industry for over 7 years and I have never come across an ISP with such little understanding of TCP/IP configurations. After almost 1 week of long calls to their idiotic support centre I have had enough of this **** (excuse the language) poor service and am transfering my business along with my residential accounts.

For anyone that plays online games, uploading / downloading files, watching movies (even youtube) do not under any circumstance go near these fools

I have just signed up to Tooway Satellite Broadband thru Digiweb in Ireland. It is the only way I can get BB even tho I am only 25 miles from Dublin. The Sat Dish is huge 43 inches or 110 cms-looks crap stuck on side of house. Download speed is about 3000kbs while upload is 250kbs. The real problem tho is the traffic for €30 per month is only 2.4 Mbs. I had my weekly allowance used up after 4 days at which time they constrict you down to about 25 kbs which means is a joke. There is no way of knowing how much you are using –I have boosted my traffic up to 4Gbs which costs a whopping €50 per month. This I did 50 hours ago but I am still stuck on “snailband” as I write while my bloodpressure slowly rises

After 6 months of constant calls from me and broken promises from Digiweb customer services/installation, I cancelled my service entirely. Then, it took me another 4 months to get them to stop sending me invoices and after 7 months (and approx 20 calls) I still am waiting for them to take their equipment away! From a cost and contention ratio perspective, these Guys are good, but for everything else I’d say stay away from them!

my speed has never reached the 12mb. i get between 6 to 8mb and 1mb upload which is crap for 59.99.
the reliability has been excellant thou. in the year ive had it it has only stopped once and its great for xbox live and playstation games (although the playstation has very slow downloads for some reason).

I’ve been with Digiweb since 2001 and the host 2 different sites for me. I have no problem with the performance or speed of the sites and it’s been fine.

Where I have a serious issue with them though is their billing. When I set up the first website I went for the quarterly direct debit payment plan. Not only did they not take any payment for 2 years, I then got a very nasty email telling me they were going to cut off my a/c due to non-payment. Despite having pointed out that I had sent back the direct debit mandates and that it was their fault and not mine, they were insistent that I was in the wrong.

Last year I suddenly got a very blunt notice that my a/c was going to be deleted within 3 days – again because of non-payment. I mailed them back and asked where the invoice was that I should have received. I paid the bill anyway despite not getting a satisfactory response.

Tonight I arrived home to find a letter from a debt collector working on Digiweb’s behalf. Again, no invoice, no indication of payment being due, no correspondence beforehand. I’ve just sent them a mail telling them to get their shit together, call off the debt collector or I’ll be seeking legal advice tomorrow.

I’m taking my business elsewhere, the same old shit year after year is becoming tiresome.

Digiweb are just awful in my experience.

They’ve been getting the billing wrong every single month since I joined. I’ve had to take time out from my work every month to try rectify this, like everyone else I’ve has to sit in a queue waiting for age to get though to someone in customer service.

Connection speed is very poor at times. I can’t even look at youtube during hours where other people are using the connection. The only plus is that reliablity hasn’t been too bad.

They’ve just billed the wrong person again for my bill this month, despite the fact that I was told again last month that this was sorted.

I had Digiweb’s satellite offering for a couple of years. It was a stone-age half megabit down, and a quarter of that up, and a quarter of that again for VPN traffic because VPN and high satellite latency don’t mix well.
On the other hand, the performance was exactly what they advertised, every minute of every day, with rock-solid reliability, which is why I am giving them full marks on both those scores. Never really had any problems with customer service — it was pretty good and my only gripe over was going over download quota and not realising that the transfer rates were slashed to nothing until you went below limit again.

You’re probably wondering how you’d exceed quota at those speeds, but the quote was miserable too. And that’s where the thing really fell down — value for money was shocking! About €1,500 startup costs including having to buy the equipment, and €120 month. Since I only had it for two years (deserting them the minute another broadband option became available) the startup costs averaged over that period made it more like €180/month for 0.5Mbps!!! (They offered a €100 buyback on the equipment, but never paid it in the end even though they got the gear back).

Overall, a positive experience but not an option for anyone unless you are either rich, caught between a rock and a hard place, or your employer is paying for it.

II have their metro package since 3 years. it has been upgraded from 3 MB to 6 then 8 MB but the traffic allowance stayed the same 30 Gb. this is way to low. i am using Internet for listening radio watching online tv and video and we keep running low in quota.
going over the quota is not an option, the speed restriction applied by Digiweb get you back to the stone age of Internet until your you are back under 20% below your quota !
If only they could give a descent quota allowance or even get ride off this archaic point on their high end package i would not consider moving to another ISP.
I rang them 3 times to explain my concern about the quota and asking for their plan to alleviate this issue. their answer is that removing quota would prevent them to deliver the service and so heavy user would unfairly impact the service of their other customer. The answer is you can buy more quota, but nthat then make their price uncompetitive anymore. also after explaining my concern they were all the time saying that they would check and call me next day which i am still waiting after 1 month !
I am sorry on all the major country like France, Germany, UK… you get isp providing better speed with no quota for less… this is only down to their infrastructure ! The thing is that there is no point to raise constantly the speed of their package if their quota do not allow to use it even without doing any P2P…
I had 3 issues over the time I used the service and each time they were quick to fix it after an email request. so i can’t complain about their performance and reliability even though with bad weather sometimes the service drop a little in quality.
Now i am going to test first NTL and if they can’t deliver will try BT or smart. I need to get rid of the quota archaism !

Became a customer in August 2007, DSL Lite, 1Mb download, €25 per month (billed quarterly). Setup was efficient and download speeds were excellent (often in excess of 700kbps). They gave me a fixed IP address at no extra charge. Had no technical or billing problems (…although haven’t completed cancellation yet), so can’t comment on their support.

After 6 months, I wanted to upgrade to a phone/2M broadband bundle, but Digiweb insisted that I would have to pay €120 and pay a new setup fee to cancel my existing contract, in order to take out a new 12 month contract. Not a very customer friendly attitude (thence the 2 star rating for customer service), in my opinion, so I declined, and decided to move provider. As soon as my contract was up, they then started calling regularly to try to sell upgrades.

Happy enough with Digiweb. Have 6mb wireless for 35.99 a month (upped free of charge from 3mb 6 months ago for being a good customer apparently). Only issue was when we went over the 20gb monthly download limit (too low i reckon) they cut our speed right down for the next 30 days unless we paid 17euro. We didn’t pay so that was hell.. so slow.

Digiweb:

Cost €29.95 per month
Max download Speed 3Mb (depending on location & usage)
Upload Speed 256kb
Traffic Quota 20GB

Find Digiweb to be quite sufficient. Credit where it’s dude – the service has improved dramatically in last year with less difficulties connecting around Dublin. Download speed is quite fast. For uploading / FTPing would like something faster.
Customer service have been helpful.

Good step up from Vodafone 3G broadband modem.

The Netgear mobile broadband router is also quite sturdy -if the blue net cable was an extra 3/4 feet longer would give whole package a 8/10..

Overall 7/10
