First of all service is shit. Second of all when i called to ask to inscrease to 6mb wireless they say sorry we don’t offer that speed the highest is what we gave it to you for 30 euros/month. I was was saying to myself you must be an idiot, they would not even increase it for me. I can’t wait to leavew this service in Septemebr and take NTL.
Second issue they say where are you located I said I live in Balbriggan, ” you see your location doesn’t have good signal.” So I suggeted to her do you wan’t me to locate to new place with better signal so I can have better internet hehehe. One of the customer service personnel recommended I move the router closer to the window. Lol meaning I need to carrry router with myselg in the house to find the better signal. Maybe I should go on the top of the roof that would be best idea. I suggest to anyone who has Digiweb and lives in far north of Dublin better not take it because they will never call you and check on customers and when you call them they don’t do anyhting.

The NTL pkg I was on- 10mbps with unlim download –
now I have to track my download usage with this Digiweb crap traffic graph your tech support gave me cause the agent could not even explaine what the hell was going on.. I done some tracking myself and the whle think dont even add up – - – I was on holidays for 1 week (pc not even turned on) but i managed to down load 9 G – WTF..!!

Hi.
I have the Metro Broadband package limit 20 GB per month. The service is good with support .
The big fail is using Youtube or flash movies .The traffic increases dramatically I suspect it is a ploy to get you to upgrade. They send out e mails advising you to upgrade often enough

We had the Tooway Satellite system through Digiweb.
At ~€60 / m for a 3.6 Mb package with only 4 GB allowance was a little steep. Also, they don’t seem to understand how the usage restriction works themselves!
AFAIK, Digiweb outsource all their install work. I have saw the result of this first hand as there is a 1 metre dish almost tilting the side-wall of my house. Two hefty foreigners placed the dish over my footpath at eye-level. It really is breaking stuff (nose breaking!). I say hefty as I had to climb into my attic and fish in the wires (which they shoved under a roof-tile) as they simply couldn’t fit in the attic!
One thing Digiweb seem to have going for them is their customer support. Friendly, helpful and always there. We hassled them alot over the satellite (we kept blowing the allowance) yet they were always on hand to answer your queries.
Finally, the satellite option is sold as 3.6Mb down and 384Kb up for all packages. This speed and more is achievable day and night. It is a very stable system IMO

Do not go with Digiweb. They tried to con me out of getting €250. Contract does not have a cooling off period and i told them that i did not have a telephone line but as i had ordered the broadband line they were going to charge me for the BB and line rental as well or else pay the cancellation fee. I had not received any contract from them they tied me into a contract without my acknowlegment and it was not until i mentioned about my right to a cooling off period that they cancelled my account otherwise i would have had to pay. Do not go with them.

Digiweb satelite broadband.
If you have no other choice it is a possible option.
Speed and connection can be iffy and inconsistant — the a problem is lack of feedback from the modem as to signal strenght so you can not tell what is happening. You have no information on how much you have downloaded etc
Also your IP address is in Italy so you have to use a proxy if you want to use a betting site, (illegal in Italy) also pages often load in italian .
Can be slow like dial up but bigger files can download quickly. (600mb in 40mins No where near as fast as real broadband) Limit is low but if you only browse web pages and not youtube it is OK.
technical customer service seems OK have dealt reasonably with several queries by e-mail and once in connection with cheltenham racing by phone . (pity really on that last one – i would have beeen better off not been able to bypass the italian block on betting)

I would not use Digi-web if they were the last broadband provider on this planet. We have had dealing with them before. They told my brother they were unlimited and then his connection slowed up as soon as he hit 30GBs and had to wait for a while before he got back up to full speed. seriously if your a Digi-web customer I think you really need you head examined.

Digiweb Review by SifromLucan, January 22, 2010
As a reseller of Eircom and having to deal with digiweb in the past on behalf of my own customers I consider Digiweb to be the worst ISP in Ireland. One paticular customer had their broadband not working for literly months and when I contacted support the said they will looking into it. I then got an email saying everything is resolved only to find nothing had been done. I called them again and the same thing happened. It was like being stuck in a twilightzone loop. Needless to say I got the customer to switch to another provider.
Digiweb Review by Mick, January 7, 2010
i’ve been with digiweb for just over 2 years, starting with 7mb/1mb (actual speed was between 5 & 7) , it was great, so great i upgraded to the 12mb/1mb package. Average speeds are about 8mb fluctuating between 6 & 10 at times, ping is generally 18 to 30
I noticed my speeds drop a few months back, I contacted digiweb customer care trying to figure out why i now only had intermittent or no service. i must be one of the fortunates because i was never left long in the Q & when i got through they could’nt have been nicer or more helpfull. The reason i gave them 4*’s for customer service is i did come across 1 dickhead but i sent his supervisor an email for which i recieved an appology & 1 month free (Thank You!) the supervisor sent out a guy to see what the problem was.
it turned out as it works off “line of sight” some tree’s had grown & blocked my conection with the mast.He tracked another mast & it was all sorted.
Having read some of the reviews of other isp’s, i consider myself lucky. Digiweb has scored well here by comparisson to the competition & not on its own merits really, it is a bit expensive for what you get but for my money they are the best of a bad bunch
Digiweb Review by Diarmaid, January 3, 2010
I have Digiweb tooway satellite broadband for 6 months now. I have to admit that the service is very reliable; it only stopped when it was snowing. My major gripe is their quota of 4Gb/month. When you reach the limit they effectively stop your internet access. 4Gb in this day and age is a joke. Like most people who use satellite I have no other option so I’m stuck with Digiweb (they seem to be the most competitive satellite provider in Ireland). So please Digiweb raise your ridicules quota, what’s the point of 3.4Mbit/s if you’re capped when you stream videos for a few hours.
Digiweb Review by TJ-Dublin, December 9, 2009
I signed up to digiweb just over a year ago. At 1st the speed was good i was getting a decent 5mb up and 2.5mb (cost at the time was €75.00 p/m) down after about 7 months this dropped to about 1mb up and 256kb down. When i rang them up they gave me the usual crap of “do you have anything downloading etc” “is your firewall set to deny internet access” and so on. I have worked in the IT industry for over 7 years and I have never come across an ISP with such little understanding of TCP/IP configurations. After almost 1 week of long calls to their idiotic support centre I have had enough of this piss (excuse the language) poor service and am transfering my business along with my residential accounts.
For anyone that plays online games, uploading / downloading files, watching movies (even youtube) do not under any circumstance go near these fools
Digiweb Review by Andy, September 5, 2009
I have just signed up to Tooway Satellite Broadband thru Digiweb in Ireland. It is the only way I can get BB even tho I am only 25 miles from Dublin. The Sat Dish is huge 43 inches or 110 cms-looks crap stuck on side of house. Download speed is about 3000kbs while upload is 250kbs. The real problem tho is the traffic for €30 per month is only 2.4 Mbs. I had my weekly allowance used up after 4 days at which time they constrict you down to about 25 kbs which means is a joke. There is no way of knowing how much you are using –I have boosted my traffic up to 4Gbs which costs a whopping €50 per month. This I did 50 hours ago but I am still stuck on “snailband” as I write while my bloodpressure slowly rises
Digiweb Review by Derek, August 12, 2009
I signed up for Metro fine, but a year later I asked to be moved from Metro to DSL. After 6 months of constant calls from me and broken promises from Digiweb customer services/installation, I cancelled my service entirely. Then, it took me another 4 months to get them to stop sending me invoices and after 7 months (and approx 20 calls) I still am waiting for them to take their equipment away! From a cost and contention ratio perspective, these Guys are good, but for everything else I’d say stay away from them!
Digiweb Review by zyk, July 29, 2009
i have had the 12mb package at 59.99 a month for a year now. the customer service is very poor and the q system is horrible, the longest ive waited is 40mins (at cost to me, its best to ring them at 9am just as they open. if you do this you should be in the top 5). i have had lots of problems with the payments thou and have to call them once a month. i was told the payments were takin out at the end of month, then i was told it was between the 21st to the 28th, then i was told it was the 15th, then it was the end of the month again and one month it was only 30 euro then back to 60 the next. each staff member tells me something different (very annoying).
my speed has never reached the 12mb. i get between 6 to 8mb and 1mb upload which is crap for 59.99.
the reliability has been excellant thou. in the year ive had it it has only stopped once and its great for xbox live and playstation games (although the playstation has very slow downloads for some reason).

Digiweb Review by Dave Morrissey, June 18, 2009
I’ve been with Digiweb since 2001 and the host 2 different sites for me. I have no problem with the performance or speed of the sites and it’s been fine.
Where I have a serious issue with them though is their billing. When I set up the first website I went for the quarterly direct debit payment plan. Not only did they not take any payment for 2 years, I then got a very nasty email telling me they were going to cut off my a/c due to non-payment. Despite having pointed out that I had sent back the direct debit mandates and that it was their fault and not mine, they were insistent that I was in the wrong.
Last year I suddenly got a very blunt notice that my a/c was going to be deleted within 3 days – again because of non-payment. I mailed them back and asked where the invoice was that I should have received. I paid the bill anyway despite not getting a satisfactory response.
Tonight I arrived home to find a letter from a debt collector working on Digiweb’s behalf. Again, no invoice, no indication of payment being due, no correspondence beforehand. I’ve just sent them a mail telling them to get their shit together, call off the debt collector or I’ll be seeking legal advice tomorrow.
I’m taking my business elsewhere, the same old shit year after year is becoming tiresome.
Digiweb Review by Peter Loughran, June 16, 2009
I’ve Digiweb’s Metro service and i have to say it has never given me any bother. I find the speed and reliability second to none. I’ve had limited need to call cutsomer services but the one time i did to discuss a billing query i found them very helpful and clear. The big advatnage the service offers for me is the quality of the free telephone line rental and cheap calls.
Digiweb Review by Barry, May 3, 2009
AWFUL AWFUL ISP, Customer service is so bad, how are they getting away with this…speed is also bad, I don’t feel I am getting value for my money, also have second connection with smart which I find much better. I heard that they will not be around for much longer..anyone else here this!
Digiweb Review by Dec O'Farrell, April 14, 2009
My DSL is now slower than dial-up and despite my protests they do nothing about it, and blame everyone and everything but themselves. Customer service I have found to be at best slovenly and at worst downright insolent. I won’t be renewing my sub with them. Dreadful.
Digiweb Review by badugi, March 18, 2009
I’m on a 12mb plan and since last week speedtest says im downloading at 137kb.. Downloads running at 15k/s.. its an absolute joke. 3 mobile was probably better lol.
Digiweb Review by mick skelly, March 9, 2009
Digiweb are just awful in my experience.
They’ve been getting the billing wrong every single month since I joined. I’ve had to take time out from my work every month to try rectify this, like everyone else I’ve has to sit in a queue waiting for age to get though to someone in customer service.
Connection speed is very poor at times. I can’t even look at youtube during hours where other people are using the connection. The only plus is that reliablity hasn’t been too bad.
They’ve just billed the wrong person again for my bill this month, despite the fact that I was told again last month that this was sorted.
Digiweb Review by John Clarke, February 10, 2009
Slow, Slow, Slow, doesn’t work, slow again. Can’t ring customer service because their phone service is crap too. There’s a reason its cheap…..
Digiweb Review by dub_nerd, January 30, 2009
I had Digiweb’s satellite offering for a couple of years. It was a stone-age half megabit down, and a quarter of that up, and a quarter of that again for VPN traffic because VPN and high satellite latency don’t mix well.
On the other hand, the performance was exactly what they advertised, every minute of every day, with rock-solid reliability, which is why I am giving them full marks on both those scores. Never really had any problems with customer service — it was pretty good and my only gripe over was going over download quota and not realising that the transfer rates were slashed to nothing until you went below limit again.
You’re probably wondering how you’d exceed quota at those speeds, but the quote was miserable too. And that’s where the thing really fell down — value for money was shocking! About €1,500 startup costs including having to buy the equipment, and €120 month. Since I only had it for two years (deserting them the minute another broadband option became available) the startup costs averaged over that period made it more like €180/month for 0.5Mbps!!! (They offered a €100 buyback on the equipment, but never paid it in the end even though they got the gear back).
Overall, a positive experience but not an option for anyone unless you are either rich, caught between a rock and a hard place, or your employer is paying for it.
Digiweb Review by Stephane, January 24, 2009
II have their metro package since 3 years. it has been upgraded from 3 MB to 6 then 8 MB but the traffic allowance stayed the same 30 Gb. this is way to low. i am using Internet for listening radio watching online tv and video and we keep running low in quota.
going over the quota is not an option, the speed restriction applied by Digiweb get you back to the stone age of Internet until your you are back under 20% below your quota !
If only they could give a descent quota allowance or even get ride off this archaic point on their high end package i would not consider moving to another ISP.
I rang them 3 times to explain my concern about the quota and asking for their plan to alleviate this issue. their answer is that removing quota would prevent them to deliver the service and so heavy user would unfairly impact the service of their other customer. The answer is you can buy more quota, but nthat then make their price uncompetitive anymore. also after explaining my concern they were all the time saying that they would check and call me next day which i am still waiting after 1 month !
I am sorry on all the major country like France, Germany, UK… you get isp providing better speed with no quota for less… this is only down to their infrastructure ! The thing is that there is no point to raise constantly the speed of their package if their quota do not allow to use it even without doing any P2P…
I had 3 issues over the time I used the service and each time they were quick to fix it after an email request. so i can’t complain about their performance and reliability even though with bad weather sometimes the service drop a little in quality.
Now i am going to test first NTL and if they can’t deliver will try BT or smart. I need to get rid of the quota archaism !
Digiweb Review by Goodway, January 19, 2009
On the 8mb metro package for 40 euro a month. Lucky if the speed is ever over 4mb.
It seems that if you live in Athlone this is the best you can get. I send digiweb emails
asking for some improvement of service but this never gets me anywhere. They fob
me off with vague replies and i keep emailing again and again but getting
nowhere. How can they get away with giving such bad service?
Digiweb Review by Aidan, November 21, 2008
Became a customer in August 2007, DSL Lite, 1Mb download, €25 per month (billed quarterly). Setup was efficient and download speeds were excellent (often in excess of 700kbps). They gave me a fixed IP address at no extra charge. Had no technical or billing problems (…although haven’t completed cancellation yet), so can’t comment on their support.
After 6 months, I wanted to upgrade to a phone/2M broadband bundle, but Digiweb insisted that I would have to pay €120 and pay a new setup fee to cancel my existing contract, in order to take out a new 12 month contract. Not a very customer friendly attitude (thence the 2 star rating for customer service), in my opinion, so I declined, and decided to move provider. As soon as my contract was up, they then started calling regularly to try to sell upgrades.
Digiweb Review by AJ, October 31, 2008
Been with Digiweb since April 2004 . Had 2 issues in that time and it took quite a bit of chasing tech support to get the issues resolved to satisfaction. That aside, I’ve been 100% happy with the service. In the last week I opted to go with them for voice calls as well as the DSL Xtra (7.6mb), so they must be doing something right!
Digiweb Review by Fiona, October 29, 2008
Happy enough with Digiweb. Have 6mb wireless for 35.99 a month (upped free of charge from 3mb 6 months ago for being a good customer apparently). Only issue was when we went over the 20gb monthly download limit (too low i reckon) they cut our speed right down for the next 30 days unless we paid 17euro. We didn’t pay so that was hell.. so slow.
Digiweb Review by Simon, October 20, 2008
Digiweb:
Cost €29.95 per month
Max download Speed 3Mb (depending on location & usage)
Upload Speed 256kb
Traffic Quota 20GB
Find Digiweb to be quite sufficient. Credit where it’s dude – the service has improved dramatically in last year with less difficulties connecting around Dublin. Download speed is quite fast. For uploading / FTPing would like something faster.
Customer service have been helpful.
Good step up from Vodafone 3G broadband modem.
The Netgear mobile broadband router is also quite sturdy -if the blue net cable was an extra 3/4 feet longer would give whole package a 8/10..
Overall 7/10
