Perlico are rubbish. Broadband dropping out for 2 months now and they wont fix it.

Bad service…….worse customer service, without brains to speak of. Service was out for 3 days and has been at 1MB since we signed up (was suppose to be 3MB). Awful, Please please don’t even think of buying their services.

PERLICO SUCK! My web was out for over a week and you know what they said “not our problem” seriously they are the worst isp in the worldddddd. There owned by vodafone fyi. If you have any sense at all you wont go with these people.

Absolutely useless, all they want is to sign you up onto the 3mb package so they can tie ya in for another 12months. I had no phone or broadband service for a week, as was told the broadband would be fixed before the phone line. Bullshit, how are you meant to get a connection through a phone line broadband supply if the phone line is down. can only get 0.80kbps and the exchange is less than a mile away. Stay away from Perlico

plaese forgive my spelling as i am dylexic and my abuse of you people out there tha got roped into all over the below look all you think perlico are bad when infact its nothing to do with them its all the goverments fault for letting them in the country in the first place. right now thats over, i’ll get to my point lets start with eircom actualy lets not there crap were i am, i was with them 2 years with 1m line and i had nothing but trouble and when i say trouble i mean trouble then i switch to perlico and called eircom up to let them no and bam would you believe it my internet was so perfect for 2-3 week while the change over was going on now considering i was losing connection speed everyday and most days apart from losing connection full stop for hours on end was ridiculas now they told me that my lines were copper and i thounght well yeah i can understand this and said to me there is a boost that they can do only with special sercumstance’s and this is what i think they did but by this time i was with perlico and just did not trust them=eircom after the 2 years now in all fareness to perlico there under the thumb of eircom and ultimetly eircom rule the roost and can fuck with any landline and get away with it and divert to there customers in highly populated areas were they get more money they. dont care about the areas that are not populated enough for them its margins are not profitable enough any1 ever think why we as a nation consantly get scewed up the ass by are own goverment. now as far as 3 mobile broadband go there were cheap ass motherfuckers thats why they got the contract because like them cheap assmotherfuckers well so is are goverment cheap as motherfuckers all over there only reason are current govement is still ineffect is cause they rigged the ellection to bide there time in covering all those black holes were are nations tax payers money has ether been weasted or stolen. i mean really people think about it this man was Charles Haughey right hand man who raped this counrtys people back in the day as bertie has done but as per say we wont find any of this out till the bastard is nearly dead and as far as the other gobshite who is are so called Taoiseach well he can get fucked for covering that cunts ass and trying to shut down certain areas so as other companys can come in well to u i say this if its not broken dont try to fix it. are country is not broken just broke from all your fucking advisers who couldnt fight there way out of a wet paper bag with a stanly nife people you need to wake up before its to late some may say it is but i no its not we just need to reorganise our prioritys and do this now not over the next 3-4 years it needs to happen now charity starts at home if we cant help ours selfs how can we hope to help others and when i say we i mean our goverment to help all those poor souls who have been sweeped under the rug and told u made the mistake now u fix it. well no i am sorry yous made the mistake of giving the banks a shit load of cash to let them continue to opperate and the operation is take peoples homes of them and make sure that theres no money to hand out to buisness so people cant pay there loans and they can recoop there moneys faster this way buy selling there house’s of at lower prices cause the interst in most cases is payed first. and if any1 wants to finish this of please feel free to cause i really cant take it any more i’m only glad i have nothoing for them to take of me cause if i did i would go down with the ship and take all them motherfuckers with me i 1 foul swoop beleave me now i could do it right now but anarkey is not what this country needs its organisation and the right people to do it i mean i this day and age we should beable to get are people working doing all the things that need to be done i mean just because your not working and getting the dole does not mean the goverment can come up with some sort of scheme and get the people working for the goverment doing jobs that dont require to much skill now not that i am saying people on the dole cant do anything more tecnical or are stupid its just i dont think you would work at any thing for the pennies they give and those people who do do tis scheme will get a top up on there weekly dole money for there contrabutions now not only do they get value for money they save money and as far as cutting benifits and things like this well why dont u cut company tax’s and leves so we can get more companys into ireland and not drive them anyway its called competting for a bigger part of the world wide markets but then again have the companys not got enough from us now i mean how much of ireland is actually owned by irish people lol and how much of are own resourse do we actually use and not export for profit

Have been trying since mid jan to get my line closed down. No luck. I presume i am going to be charged for the extra time. The line and broadband was fine. The customer service is crap.

Just called Eircom today. Took just over 10 minutes to switch back. I used a line checker to check how fast I could get here, Perlico said 3Mb, Eircom says I can get 7mb. And since I cant get NTL or anything faster than 7mb I’m going with them! Only €66pm. Which isnt bad for 20 quid more with a 50Gig download limit instead of 24Gb.

And no, I dont work for Eircom.. But haha, they are the best now for this speed. (Magnet is the real king, 50Mb in dublin )

On the broadband usage page for your account means you can never tell how much of your download allowance you have used. They have no problem chanrging you if you go over your limit tho.

Very unsatisfactory. Constant timeouts, and I mean CONSTANT. Brutal upload rates. Customer service is mid-range at best. Value for money? Not really.

Just called ‘perlico customer service’ and asked about my internet being upgraded to 3Mb, they said that didnt go through, that it would add to the contract, when i specifically remember them saying that it wont add to the contract, that it would go up to €51 pm without a new contract, What a load of bullshit.

PLEASE PLEASE DONT JOIN PERLICO. JOIN ANYONE BUT THEM. WORST ISP IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.

Eircom is better. Go back to Eircom. Perlico IS eircom broadband, but resold and shitty. I am posting this from my 3 Mobile Broadband device. Fuck perlico, I’m going back to Eircom in January when the contract is up.

Worst, worst, worst ISP in Ireland! I’m warning everyone, DON’T join Perlico! The internet cuts out at random, very annoying when downloading, etc. It cut out while I was loading a purchase on ebay, and I wasn’t sure if the order had gone through, and it was such a hassle!

For everyone thinking about it, Don’t. I’m using it now. This is the first time in 3 hours it’s actually started working. Don’t use Perlico! Boycott it!

We just moved to Ireland from Scotland and opted for Perlico as the lowest cost/best value internet and telephone calls package. Really wish I had listened to the family advice to stump up the extra for Eircom. First Perlico took over a month after connecting the broadband to send us a modem. Fine, we were using one we brought from the UK, but since we were not using their non-existent modem they refused us customer service support over the poor connection and speeds we suffer. Now we do have their modem they tell us there is nothing wrong with the line, the faults must be inside our house and we have to pay someone to come out and fix them. We are in a moden house in the middle of a town, not in the middle of nowhere with ancient lines (like we were back in Scotland)! This estate was built within the last five years. Funnily enough, within an hour or so of calling them often the line comes back on. I’d just take that route every time if they didn’t take so darn long to answer the phone!

Recently changed from Eircom. bad mistake i think. broadband is so bad I am thinking of changing again. definitely not 3mb connection. very slow and keeps freezing.

Brilliant service, better than any other package out there. I have the €46 pm 1Mb pack, real good, have my own download limiter so i dont go over the limit, and i only do when im downloading movies and games, otherwise, great service. I upgraded to 3mb last night at 10 to 6, in 2 minutes it was done, and i was told it will be changed today to 3mb

Download speeds I get:
Worst: 70Kbps
Best: 130Kbps
Average: 90-110Kbps

Ping times:
Worst: 210ms
Best: 14ms
Average: 20-40ms

Playing on the 360 and ps3 is simple, works great. Great price/service. Only annoying thing is that they are trying to make money off people going over the limit by saying their broadband usage thing is down all the time. but i dont care.

Better than Eircom. If you want really fast internet and dont care about it being a bit expensive (70 pm, no phone, just internet) then get Magnet’s 24Mb service.

But perlico is great.

Absolutley rubbish ISP, latency and pign are terrible, conection often times out when browsing the internet. Download speed fluctuate constantly and upload speeds are dreadful. They are not good value for money at all, it is cheaper to get a 10mb conection and phone with smart than a 1mb and phone with perlico!

Perlico were the cheapest option for me and since I moved to them from Eircom I have had no problems .The speeds etc seem fairly similar to Eircom’s anyway – but I’m saving about a tenner a month now. Any problems I have had are usually because of line faults that have to be fixed by Eircom.

Broadband has not kept a connection for more than 5 mins for the last 8 weeks and all i keep being told is that there is a problem in the 09 area.
They sent out a technician and the problem has gotten worse.
I tried playing world of warcraft and got disconnected 23 times in fifteen mins
How in the name of god is that leading service providing???
I have called and called perlico and keep getting told the same crap over and over again “We apologise for the inconvienence and our technicians are trying to reserve the problem”
This really should be their motto.
For the love of god is there not some company that can offer better service than this? NOT eircom

Changing over from Eircom to Perlico was my worst decision ever! When it works, Perlico broadband is either slow or sticky but normally is just doesn’t work. Plus, my landline is down almost as often as the Internet connection. Almost worse than having no connection is the intermittent stops and starts – day after day! I am using a 3G dongle (at extra cost for backup) to post this message as my connection has been down almost an hour now. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PERLICO TO MY WORST ENEMY!

I live in County Kildare and I switched to Perlico at the start of 2009. I chose their 3MB broadband package and am beyond frustrated with my internet service at this stage.

My internet connection is intermittent and it drops constantly. This is annoying, especially if I’m about to transmit confidential or sensitive information in the middle of a purchase etc. My connection is also extremely slow, operating at only 5% of the capacity that I am paying for when it comes to uploading and downloading. This is only marginally faster than my previous dial-up connection.

Also, Perlico offers a ‘free’ security system for the first three months but don’t be fooled. The broadband connection is so slow that it is very difficult to even download the required software and, when I eventually managed to access the relevant details there was a problem with the user details provided. I phoned to enquire about this and was told that there was an issue with the software and that there was no date available for when this issue might be resolved. Extremely poor service all around and I am just counting the months until the end of my contract so that I can switch to another provider. 0 out of 10.

i joined Perlico about 3 months ago ,and have found them to be excellent , their customer service and telephone technical support are second to none . i was previously with UTV and before that Eircom . I have to say that i found Utv to be excellent just that Perlico are better value for me at the moment . as for Eircom i would do without a phone or computer before i went back to them

I used Perlico for a long time and never had any problems until we moved. They weren’t available in our new area and when I asked for a disconnect on the date we were moving they did it a week earlier but didn’t cease billing us. In the scheme of things that was a minor problem and throughout our three years of service I can’t say we had any other problem apart from the occasional downtime. Excellent value to boot.
