“Skytel Review by Martin Crosbie” -Yeah, no, they don’t return your emails.
It took them over a month to figure out what was wrong with my connection (random drops, no conection for 30 minutes at a time).
And everytime I called they said the usual “everything looks fine on our end” (problem was on their end and it took them that long to realise it) The only nice one there is that girl called Jessica that answers calls.

The worst I have ever seen, should not be in business. As for the boss, he needs a lesson in customer service (keeps telling me to go somewhere else if I am not happy)
Is there not a regulator for these Mickey mouse outfits.” -I completely agree with you.
whoever answers emails at sales@skytel.ie is a complete tool, and rude as hell too.
And don’t even get me started on the prices!
Subscription
€44.95
Connection €49

Upload 1.5Mbps
Contention 18:1 -WTF, you don’t even get those speeds, I usually get half that, even late at night/early in the morning when there’s less people sharing the connection in my area.
Their top of the range “business broadband” package just amazes me:
Enterprise
Subscription
€175
Connection Free

Contention 8:1 -€175 a month for 7mb broadband? Sweet Jesus…
I would never ever recommend Skytel to anyone, but since Wexford seems to be stuck in the middle ages in terms of broadband, I guess I’m stuck for the time being…
I’m glad to see there’s other pissed off customers voicing their opinions.

Not going to even rate Skytel. I hope they go bust they deserve to. This don’t know how to treat their customers with respect etc. Pay to join and hey your on your own with no service. The should be a department or a consumers report on all these so called server providers in Ireland to have to set standards etc. None of all these so calledd hidden charge when people sign up. They have been ripping Irish consumers for to long.
I hope Primetime would do a programe on this and have a jounalist ring up and see what deals they get etc and then show then up with hidden charges etc and bad service they offering the Irish consumers for too long

Skytel Review by Martin Crosbie, April 28, 2010
Having had problems with constant signal drops, i contacted skytel by e-mail regarding these problems. I was originally using the rj45 connection on the computer and not the wireless router, constant problems!!! Since my correspondence with Skytel i have started using their wireless router, problems of signal drops are gone!!! I would recommend anyone that has a problem like this should firstly contact skytel by email(they have a lot of customers so dont expect call backs all the time) they WILL DEFINITELY return your email! Also a small point, some of the ratings below have complained that the staff of skytel are rude, this is definitely not true in my experience, plus the speed of their connections i find to be very good. The only problem i had with theirservice was the signal drops which now seem to be gone. The best advice i have for people needing to contact customer service is to e-mail, and if you are having problems with signal drops and AREN’T using a wireless router, try one! Its cured my problem. ps Jessica is the person to deal with in their office. Cheers! pps. my star rating above is after 3 days.. fingers crossed..

25 april 2010 will cancel on monday 26th one of the worst overall services i have ever had the misfortune to endure!!! constant signal drops and constanttly being told everything is fine at their end. unforgivable!!!!

deserve to be sued and run out of town, people should get together and not pay their subscription until they buck up their ideas
Skytel Review by Shee T, April 2, 2010
Appalling service from them. Everything said below is true. 24-hour service – doesn’t exist. If your service goes on friday evening, they don’t have anyone ‘until monday’ to fix it. Slow speeds that are well below ISDN (the pre-runner to Broadband). Their office NEVER returns calls. You get ‘ I’m looking at your connection now and there’s no problem’ only to be told a few minutes later that ‘yes there’s a problem in your area – don’t know when it’ll be fixed, but will call you back’ (Never calls back). Now they’re trying to sell ‘Rocket Broadband’ at ‘up to’ 10MB download. Joke of the year. Avoid Avoid Avoid like the plague.

waste of rating this ISP Provider……
performance—-very poor
customer service—no customers
reliability—can’t rely on them

***AVOID AT ALL COSTS***
Absolutely atrocious service. These people do not deserve to have a business considering the way they treat their customers.
As for their actual packages/services; they’re a joke to say the least. Disgustingly bad latency issues, constant signal drops and appaling contention rates.
***AVOID AT ALL COSTS***
