Its a pity u cant leave less than 1 star....absolutely shocking. Never in my life have I dealt with a company as bad. Rude rude rude. I went to their office in Drinagh to collect my router and I was embarrassed for them at the state of the place. Consistently bad service. I go whole weekends with no broadband, leave them voicemails (as they dont bother workin sat/sun) and they dont even have the courtesy to call back. Its an absolute embarassment. They should just close the doors. As I didnt have internet the weekend just gone, I ended up talkin to "engineers" Jessica and Colm who were friendly but pretty useless.....then i got a call from the almighty Gareth! The owner....I asked am i going to have to top up my o2 dongle again this weekend and he replies...."what do u want me say to that like"...i have it recorded if anyone would luike to hear....they are pathetic...avoid at all costs

I was with skytel for 3 years. I am using Voip as my telephone and I had problems with the quality of line in that time.. Since they "upgraded" the system I couldn't use my telephone at all. The up- and download speed kept moving up and down and the jitter and pings were terrible. I complained about it three times and in the end was told hey couldn't do anything about it. I changed to cansore Broadband and I can't believe I stayed so long with skytel. Before you go with skytel or stay with them check out other companies.
My internet is way faster now with cansore and my voip is just working wonderfully. I can use my phone again. Never with skytel!!!! Be warned.

I have been with them for about 6 months under the Rocket/racket broadband alias....
When I get a ping its ok to be fair, but unfortunately getting a ping is the problem. Apparantly they are located in an area of Wexford known as "destination host unreachable" I can see the transmitter from my window so its not to far away.
I tried to speak with the lovely girl on the phone to resolve my connectivity issues. I might point out I am a 15 yrs experienced network professional myself having worked mainly in the city of London for major financial market data companies. The young lady was very rude and then slammed the phone down on me when I tried to tell her that the main issue was no signal light on the receiver, and really need an engineer on sight to check it out. She said they dont just send an engineer out when you have problems, the call got heated and she slammed the phone down on me. I called back later and asked to speak with her manager. I was told that he was not available and that she was the only person in the office. I said I wished only to speak with her manager as she had been rude and previously slammed the phone down on me, she then replied "it wasnt her it must have been the other girl [name removed*] hard to believe as she had just told me she was the only one in the office. I requested a manager call back and I am still waiting connectivity still in yoyo status and looking for another ISP.
Carnsore Broadband look favourable you might want to look there before you even consider using this bunch of cowboys. I am nothing to do with iether company....
I had to click one star as there are no icons with dog poo on....

I've more history with Skytel than can fit in this comment box, much of it recounted by others on this site. However, I'm still with them because last year, for me, their service became faster and more reliable than I'd ever seen before. Could be something to do with a Coca-Cola comms contract. God forbid they loose it.

I have an alternative (3 Ireland, rural broadband), it can't match Skytel's speeds or latency at my location yet. Our local exchange is DSL enabled, but Eircom has no plans to upgrade what is effectively a 'party-line' from the exchange to my location. I had an Eircom engineer around and he was shooting the breeze with me on how he might be able to do the upgrade. So I said, no point if you can't match or better what I'm getting. Ran a SpeedTest for him there & then, averaging 6MB. He just shook his head - not a chance he said.

I couldn't be arsed giving Skytel a rating - just too difficult. All I can say is keep the current service running - it works for me at the moment.

I have had the misfortune of been with skytel wexford for 3 years in that time i have never had what i have been paying for. They are not worth the hassle of joining up. There should be a regulator to stop the con artists like skytel wexford operating. Now my package is offering 17mb down 1.5 up and my speed test just came up as just under 3MB down and .33MB up. Changing provider this week yippee. Oh and there customer service is appalling.

Appalling service. Have had no telephone now for 3 day's will move from them asap, avoid at all costs, loged fault and then told it wasn't loged but I was talking to the same person who logged it in the first place. Hate being taken for a fool.

I am an expert in networking and Esp in wireless connectivity I work all over the world in this field. I told Skytel of a problem a relative was having and told them exactly how to resolve it. They didn't seem to take it seriously at all and this problem got worse and cost my relative a lot of time, trouble, and nearly a lot of money. Eventually they cancelled with Skytel and went back to Eircom. really not impressed.

Do not waste your time and money with these scam artists! I was with skytel for about 2 years until I couldn't take it anymore and changed to a different local provider (Carnsore Broadband). With skytel I was paying €55 a month for 6mb. Sorry, I should say *UP TO* 6mb! With the new provider I'm paying about half the money for more than twice the speed. If skytel don't keep up they will surely be out of business in no time.

It's a disgrace that they get away with offering speeds *up to* 6mb, for example, and only delivering half that speed 90% of the time.
They say they have no download limit but if you download more than about 50gb they cut your speed down to below 2mb for the rest of the month. Tools.

For a long time skytel were the only option for people in rural wexford but with the competition out there today, such as Carnsore Broadband etc, it's ridiculous that they still operate this way.
