Have been using Smart telecom for about a month now and have no complaints at all. I am getting a download speed of 12-15 mbps which is great considering its coming through the phone line. If you live in Dundalk I would highly recommend this service.

I have got smart telecom recently and was promised speeds upto 24Mbps. Since I got it installed after 1 month in which my 7 days to cancel the order was included I got the broadband with speed no more than 2.4Mbps. When I called there customer service they say I have to pay for full 12 months to cancel the contract which I cant. They tell me that the speeds in my area is maximum upto 3 Mb on my phone line but my neighbours are getting upto 24Mb on eircom. I fail to understand there reasoning and most times am stuck with speeds of .2mbps. Please help me find a way to get out of the smart telecom network

They can be good in certain areas but their speeds can be awful if you’re not in a busy location. Their customer service is appalling. You’re often made to wait for over half an hour before being put on hold straight away and told you’ll get a call back that never comes.

I have been a long time customer of Smart Telecom now and apart from a few minor glitches i would have to say this company deserves the 5 out of 5 star across the board rating i have given them.
In my case i find them to be excellent, nothing less.

Been with Smart Telecom for around five years & think I’ve had two occurrences of downtime in that period. Recent speed increase & price drop have made them unbeatable for me. Haven’t had much dealing with CS but marked them down a little as I had to request the new cheaper/faster package myself rather than being moved to it automatically.

I have no affiliation to any internet provider Here is my review for recent smarttelecom order.
I ordered the 30 euro/month basic 24Mbps broadband package on 7th November.
Received my installation package in the post on 21st November, including the free wireless router.
I didnt receive the final email telling me my connection was ready, but tried connection today 24th November and it is working. The instructions provided with the router were easy to follow. Once connected, I did a speed test, and am getting 10.8Mbps download, 600kbps upload. I will update this review if I am having any performance problems.

ordered smart telecom almost 3 months ago and still havent received a modem..but of course they have billed me for the 3 months …they have taken over 100 euros out of my bank account already.customer service is a joke also..there are far better broadband providers out there..stay well clear of smart telecom!!!

Having been with Smart Telecom for year, I only noticed six months ago they’d dropped their prices (€30/month) and upped their speed to ‘upto’ 24Mb. Had to move myself onto the new deal as doubt they’d have told me but anyway was happy to gain a bit of speed & pay €10 less every month.

Just noticed recently that my speed has jumped a bit again to ~17Mb download from the previous 12Mb.

All in all I’ve never had any problems with them in the last five years so recommended if it’s possible to get in your area.

Very happy so far. Got smart internet installed 1 month ago after a year’s pretty poor and intermittent service from Vodaphone. So far so good, cheaper and greater usage allowance than other providers and so far a relatively good service. Haven’t had reason to call customer service so can’t say if they are efficient.

About a month ago, I decided to get broardband in my apartment.
Rang Smart Telecom sales and after speaking to two very disinterred sales people I was informed that they would have to get someone from the “broardband division” to contact me. I gave them my contact details.

After a week with no contact (they did not seem to want my 39.95 per month), I gave up. Contacted Imagine instead. There were great and within a week I was up and running.

I struggled to setup a smart telecom connection at my flat for over two months. They charged me by error before they even provided service to me, then when receiving the router 3 weeks later they could not work out why I wasn’t receiving internet. All of this does not account for the numerous phone calls, being disconnected or on hold with them. After battling with their Cust service they agreed to let me go to another ISP without fees, thus still deserving an overall rating of 1 star. Well done smart, hope the Darwinism law will apply to you soon.

So hard to contact with any customer service except sales. So, it seems like they only good at promoting sales and wont bother customer’s other problems. I am sure a lot of ppl cancel the contract just after the 1 year contract just as what i did.

Been with Smarttelecom for about 6 years and in that time I’ve only once had an outage i.e. no service at all. After a brief phone call (no problem getting through) the problem was resolved.

Speeds are consistently as advertised, customer service is good.

My partner recently rang to make some inquiries (my 4 yr old modem was playing up) and they sent out a new modem for free.

I’ve been with Smart Telecom for 2 years now at two separate addresses and never had an issue whatsoever, I get the full 7mb speed most of the time and never falls below 6mbps. I get a good ping test also which is great for Gaming and online applications. Unlimited Usage(Fair Usage Policy) of 170GB but you have to go over that substantially for them to reduce your speed and all it takes is one quick phone call to their friendly customer services team and they reset it free of charge. After being an Eircom customer also(Horrible Company) I am extremely happy with my Service and have yet to have a problem with Smart Telecom !
