		<description>I struggled to setup a smart telecom connection at my flat for over two months. They charged me by error before they even provided service to me, then when receiving the router 3 weeks later they could not work out why I wasn&#039;t receiving internet. All of this does not account for the numerous phone calls, being disconnected or on hold with them. After battling with their Cust service they agreed to let me go to another ISP without fees, thus still deserving an overall rating of 1 star. Well done smart, hope the Darwinism law will apply to you soon.</description>

		<description>So hard to contact with any customer service except sales. So, it seems like they only good at promoting sales and wont bother customer&#039;s other problems. I am sure a lot of ppl cancel the contract just after the 1 year contract just as what i did.</description>

		<description>Been with Smarttelecom for  about 6 years and in that time I&#039;ve only once had an outage i.e. no service at all. After a brief phone call (no problem getting through) the problem was resolved.

Speeds are consistently as advertised, customer service is good. 

My partner recently rang to make some inquiries (my 4 yr old modem was playing up) and they sent out a new modem for free.</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve been with Smart Telecom for 2 years now at two separate addresses and never had an issue whatsoever, I get the full 7mb speed most of the time and never falls below 6mbps. I get a good ping test also which is great for Gaming and online applications. Unlimited Usage(Fair Usage Policy) of 170GB but you have to go over that substantially for them to reduce your speed and all it takes is one quick phone call to their friendly customer services team and they reset it free of charge. After being an Eircom customer also(Horrible Company) I am extremely happy with my Service and have yet to have a problem with Smart Telecom !

		<description>It all started pretty bad (June 2009). First it took me 2 months to connect the phone line with Eircom. Eircom&#039;s customer service was the worst phone experience I ever had and I promised myself to never go back to that dreadful company. Unfortunately switching internet to Smart-telecom turned out to be painful as well. Their customer service took my order and ask me to wait a few weeks until connection went through.
When I called them after 2 weeks they told me they didn&#039;t even start to process my order because they were missing my payment details and I didn&#039;t give them verbal consent to proceed (some legal contract over the phone). Finally all formalities were done and I was patiently waiting for my modem. Taught by experience I called after a week to learn that they forgot to send the modem. I got really angry and I was about to cancel the contract but they offered me 3 months of free internet and cover 1 month of line rental charges. Since that time I had no problems with them. Once or twice a year service was suspended for day or two due to technical problems but nothing really serious. Every time I checked my internet speed it was exactly as much as I was promised in the contract. Download limits which existence I discovered recently are high enough so that they do not bother me at all. Since I  start service 1,5 year ago, Smart telecom upgrade my speed 2 times. First from 4 to 5 Mb and recently from 5 to 10 Mb (as well as upload speed). I&#039;m going to stay with Smart telecom for another year and I wish them the best. We all need to support healthy competition for Eircom monopoly otherwise I will have to go back to pain of dealing with Eircom again.</description>

I tried ringing many times to get this problem sorted, and (after being on hold for on average 20 minutes, and sometimes double that) got fobbed off with &#039;resetting the lines&#039;, &#039;unplug the splitter, we&#039;ll post you a new one&#039;, &#039;hmmm, never heard of this problem.  I&#039;ll send a call to the engineers, call back if the problem persists&#039;.  In the end, I gave up trying and just put up with it.  

Value for money it ain&#039;t, it seems like only a couple of companies are more expensive.</description>
